Ingredients
1 tbsp butter
1 shallot (chopped)
1/2 small onion (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
2 lbs frozen spinach (thawed)
1 cup cream cheese
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup grated gruyere cheese
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350° F.
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions, shallot, and garlic. Sauté until the onions turn translucent. Remove from heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients besides the gruyere cheese.
- Lightly grease an 8x11” or similarly sized casserole dish.
- Put the spinach mixture in the casserole dish, spread it evenly, and top with the gruyere.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the cheese is melted and browning. Serve hot and enjoy!
