This week we’re featuring some of the new items in the Wellness Department. The Equinox Sale Week is a great time to try out something new!

Check out our new pads and tampons from woman-owned company Moon Pads! These pads are not only entirely BIODEGRADABLE, they are organic, something we have not previously carried in our Wellness department before.
Hygiene care that is both convenient and plastic free can be hard to find, so we’re happy to be carrying more options that meet the needs of our planet as well as ourselves.
Introducing herbal massage oils into your routine can be something you do to promote relaxation, relieve pain, promote circulation, to nourish the skin and scalp, and more. We’re bringing in two blends, Brahmi and Mahanarayan, from Banyan Botanicals that meet that range of needs between the two of them.
Mahanararyan oil is an ideal choice for joints and muscles in need of pain relief and circulatory support. During this time of year, we hear many people facing aches and pains as the humidity changes, making it a perfect time for a massage with a spiced warming oil that will bring blood flow and soothe inflammation.

“Our Mahanarayan Oil is based on an ancient Ayurvedic recipe that combines powerful muscle and joint targeting herbs in a base of organic sesame oil. The synergistic blend of herbs, including ashwagandha, manjistha, turmeric, and many others, penetrates deeply into the tissues to support comfort and rejuvenation.”
Can be applied locally or as full body massage oil, either to wash off or leave on throughout the day.
Our Brahmi oil is the ideal option for both relaxation and supporting skin and scalp.
“In different parts of India, both gotu kola and bacopa are commonly referred to as “Brahmi.” In Vedic philosophy, brahmi literally means “energy of universal consciousness,” which is a fitting correlation for two calming and relaxing herbs renowned for their ability to rejuvenate the mind and support awareness.”
Gotu Kola and Bacopa are taken internally or applied externally as a massage oil to support the nervous system, relieve tension, and improve circulation and concentration. Gotu Kola, Centella Asiatica, also known in skin care as Cica, is known to benefit the collagenous tissue of the skin, but also benefits the collagenous nervous tissue. Because of Gotu Kola’s anti-inflammatory and skin soothing benefits, Brahmi oil makes the perfect oil treatment for an itchy, irritated, or flaky scalp. Simply apply, warmed if desired, to hair at least 20 minutes before a shower, up to overnight if desired, to benefit scalp health and soothe the nerves at the same time. Gotu Kola can be consumed as a powder ½ tsp 1-3 times per day, with cumulative benefits over time as a neuroprotective and support to the body’s connective tissues. If you are curious about Bacopa, check out our tincture from Avena or capsule from Himalaya.

Check out all other herbal powders from Banyan – Amalaki (Amla), Triphala, Gotu Kola (Brahmi), Shatavari, and Guduchi. These 5 herbs are an entire chest of medicinal qualities!
Amalaki (Amla) and Triphala are foundational digestive and immune support in Ayurvedic medicine, Amla’s astringent and toning nature moderates excess heat in digestion, while providing fiber and nutrients. Triphala, meaning 3 fruits, combines Amla with 2 other fruits, Haritaki and Bibhitaki, to balance the digestion. Triphala is suitable for people with any direction of irregularity, as each fruit is chosen to balance each of the 3 constitutional types – vata, pitta, and kapha.
Shatavari, the moistening root of Asparagus racemosus, is a classic and time-honored choice for supporting kidney health, lung health, and reproductive health by replenishing the fluids of the body and allowing for healthy lubrication of all the mucus membranes. Shatavari, like ashwagandha, tulsi, reishi, and many more, is seen as adaptogen, nourishing the endocrine system and promoting mood, immune, and hormonal health. Shatavari is traditionally taken as fertility support, but is also the perfect choice for someone who struggles with dryness, or someone looking for holistic kidney and lung support.
Guduchi, referred to in some ancient Vedic era texts as an amrita or “divine nectar” is an incredible plant traditionally utilized for supporting the digestive, immune, and detoxification systems in the body. Modern phytochemistry has revealed Guduchi to also contain berberine, widely studied for its impacts on blood sugar, immune support and more. Guduchi also has an affinity for the moist tissues of the body, supporting the gut lining, making it ideal for people with poor assimilation, history of ulcers, and leaky gut. Guduchi also loves our joints, promoting clearance of stagnant fluids, or amma, while assisting with moisture in the body.
Sustainably harvested Shilajit resin is new to our shelves, another item whose sourcing and process has made all the difference for us. Banyan Botanicals uses traditional summer harvesting methods and traditional processing of the potent resin with Triphala powder to balance and extend the impact of the medicine on the body.
“This pure, natural mineral pitch holds a special place in Ayurveda and is traditionally used to support the body’s detoxification channels, rejuvenate the urinary tract, tone the reproductive system, and support healthy aging”

Chyavanprash, recently featured in our blog post, alongside Banyan’s Bronchial support syrup, provide two reliable options for long term and acute immune support.
Banyan’s Bronchial Support syrup and Chyavanprash both contain Ayurvedic lung support herb Vasaka, aka Malabar Nut Tree Leaf, an expert at dispelling excess mucus from the lungs.
Bronchial Support contains Vasaka as the main ingredient, alongside Tulsi, Licorice, Wild Cherry Bark, Long Pepper, Ginger, Haritaki, and Menthol, coming together to lift mucus out.
Serving size 1 tsp, 35 doses in 6 fluid oz.
The final addition to the Dr. Hauschka treatment mask collection, we’re excited to welcome the Soothing Mask, the ideal choice for “sensitive, irritated, and stressed skin.” This includes skin prone to redness and visible veins, but also alternatively those prone to acne.
“Lady’s mantle, borage, buckwheat and mullein combine to calm and fortify. Quince seed extract and witch hazel help the skin retain moisture, while nourishing shea butter joins macadamia nut and coconut oils to provide protection. Anthyllis soothes and balances.” Chamomile completes the formula to rebalance inflamed skin.
Hauschka masks can be utilized as a generous treatment and washed off, or as a thin layer worn throughout the day along with moisturizer. While the Hydrating Cream can be worn in place of a moisturizer, whereas Soothing and Firming masks should be worn under a moisturizer if applied all-day, due to the inclusion of kaolin clay in those two masks.
