Art in the Café

A Community Art Space

Local Artists of all Styles

Every month, the Blue Hill Co-op features a local artist in the café. You may see paintings, photography, textiles, felted pieces, or any other type of visual art. We’re proud to showcase artists from the Blue Hill Peninsula and to help people find new additions to their personal collections.

This Month's Featured Art Show is Joey Jett

Multimedia

Hi, I’m Joey Jett. I’m a Maine-born multimedia artist from Deer Isle, currently serving as the Blue Hill Co-op’s resident I.T. gremlin. My interests in art stretch and vary across many different mediums. If it’s malleable, then I love to create with it. I enjoy making music, sound sculptures, painting, writing, film making, and illustrating, just to name a few. The pieces I have on display here are a statement about one of the most fascinating aspects of being human – the individual identity, and the powerful impact we have on the world around us. Our lives are filled with so many people, yet our brain is still capable of recognizing and retaining particular traits about someone, completely unbeknownst to us. Everyone is seen, and everyone is remembered, so everybody matters to someone, whether we realize it or not. These broad strokes become so much more with such a small amount of detail, and so do we. I hope you enjoy my art as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Last Month's Artist was Kristie Billings
