The Front End

The people who work the Front End are the ambassadors of the Co-op. They have the most contact with our customers and sometimes their smiles are as important as the products on our shelves. The Front End is also the department responsible for our Co-op swag and gift items.

African Market Baskets

One of the Co-op's most popular items are the African Market Baskets. They are fair-trade and support healthcare and education in the villages where the weavers live.

WHAT WILL THE front end BE LIKE IN THE NEW STORE?

If you shop at the Co-op, you will know that even in the slow winter months we can have crazy lines for our two registers. If you've been here in August, at lunch time, during the Full Moon Sale, you might have had to stand around for quite some time. In the new building we will have four registers in the main checkout area. There will also be a fifth "auxiliary" register for those days of utter madness. Counting the one that will be at the cafe counter, we are talking about six cash registers!

Currently our gift section and Co-op swag is limited by our tiny space, but in the new store we will probably have a lot of new ways for you to show off your love for Blue Hill Co-op with t-shirts, tote bags, bumper stickers, and more. As for gifts, we hope to be able to carry many more items, some of which will be handmade by local artists!
