How Can I Let My Voice Be Heard?
We want to hear from you. There are a number of avenues for owners to share their ideas and opinions with the board, staff, and the rest of the membership. This page will help you figure out who to speak with and how to get in touch with them.
Contact Board Members by E-mail
Ideas about the vision for, and the future direction of, the Co-op should be directed to the Board of Directors. Other organizational issues appropriate for board consideration include: our adherence to cooperative principles; concerns about Board conflicts of interest; or an idea for a more formal relationship with another community organization. Contact the board by e-mailing board@bluehill.coop. The current board members are:
Chip Angell
Henrietta Clews, Vice President
Scott Howell, Treasurer
Becky McCall
Mia Strong, President
Ruth Sullivan, Secretary
Bring Your Ideas to a Monthly Board Meeting
The first ten minutes of each board meeting are set aside for owners to voice ideas and concerns. The meetings usually take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month at the Blue Hill Public Library in the Howard Room.
Write a Letter to the Editor in Our Newsletter
Newsletters come out 6 times per year and get sent to over 1400 Co-op owners. Letters to the Editor should be sent to newsletter@bluehill.coop or Newsletter Editor, Blue Hill Co-op Community Market & Café, PO Box 1133, Blue Hill, ME 04614.
Attend the Annual Meeting
Our annual meeting takes place every fall. Agenda topics may include voting on by-laws, electing new board members, presenting year-end financial reports, and discussing the future direction and vision for the Co-op as a whole. It is a great time to share thoughts, get updates, and exercise your VOTE!
Store Operations & Product-Related Questions
Issues related to store operations, such as discounts, the working member program, parking, product selection, and fair pricing, should be taken to the General Manager or other appropriate staff.
Post a Note on the Two Cents Board
This bulletin board is located across from the produce cooler. It is a good place for questions or comments that require a reply. Staff reviews this board regularly and post answers.
