The Co-op is a vital center, much more than just a store. It is a place where neighbors meet, where we envision together an increasingly sustainable world. We shop for food, search out ways to create more nourishing meals, discover pathways towards health, learn how to lessen our carbon footprint on this beautiful earth. If you have a question, feel free to write to us or to the department buyers and managers below. [Their names are linked to their photos.]
Everyone is welcome to shop at the Co-op! There are no requirements. You do not have to become an owner or work in the store to shop here.
Grocery Department
The Co-op’s Grocery Department strives to carry a healthy assortment of organic and local products. Supporting our local farmers and the organic food industry is very important to us, putting our local farmers and local economy first. You will find many local and made-in-Maine grocery items at our store, including bread, meat, dairy, maple syrup, honey, and chocolate. We also offer a buying club and pre-orders on items available from the catalogs of our major distributors.
