What is Ownership?

Co-op members are called owners,  since each person owns a share in our Co-op. Ultimately,  you will have an investment of $200 in this collective. You will be able to participate in Board meetings and speak out on policy and issues affecting the cooperative. Beyond the group of people buying together at the store,  owners are also linked to one another in other ways and the potential of a cooperative is large,  our connection to one another is vitally important.

Here you can give us direct and immediate feedback, or contact board and staff, or find out how to participate in events and meetings. If you’re just getting interested in the Co-op,  you can download a pdf application or to fill out an electronic application to become an owner, or discover other ways to connect and communicate with others in the cooperative.

New owners can check out the New Owner information page. Be sure and check out the Owner Orientation Tours—offered twice a month. Check out the schedule and call to claim a spot in the next one. They’re fun as well as informative, and you can come along just for the joy of learning even more about the Co-op.

There is all kinds of essential information for Co-op Members here on the site. Minutes of board meetings,  bylawsends policies and more are just a click away.

Note that events and meetings are listed in our calendar. Generally, the Co-op Board meets the third Tuesday of the month in the Howard Room of the Blue Hill Library.

October is Fair Trade Month and we include here an article that speaks to what fair trade means to us and to the Co-op! Grab the PDF.

An ongoing project,  the Eat Local Challenge,  continues.
